Amy + Anthony had the most stunning, hot sunny day for their wedding on the 17th of January, and we had an awesome time documenting their day with both photo and video. Markovina Vineyard Estate was the venue for the day’s proceedings, which is always a great choice! After exhanging vows and sharing a few congratulatory glasses of bubbles, we borrowed the happy newlyweds and their bridal party for a few quick photos around the beautiful grounds of Markovina before darting to Muriwai for some portraits too, where the waves were in full force and the clouds looked nice and pretty! Be sure to watch their highlights to get a broader view of the day’s proceedings, and especially for the bit at the end where they charged glasses with all of their guests – such fun! Congrats again Amy + Anthony 🙂

Saturday’s forecast looked pretty dreary, but we’d been keeping our fingers crossed that the forecasted rain wouldn’t make an appearance. We arrived at Lichfields where the boys were getting ready, and the sun was out in full force! We couldn’t believe our luck, and neither could everyone there, and we all willed the good weather to continue. The boys were excited, though Matt was beginning to get a little bit nervous… We photographed them and their action hero socks, before heading over to Wild at Heart to see Geri and her girls. Seeing her dress from Astra Bridal hung up on the window made us even more excited and when she was finally in it, she looked incredible. We knew Matt would have a hard time fighting back any tears once he saw her for the first time 😉
By the time the ceremony was due to begin at Soljan’s Estate Winery in Kumeu, the rain had unfortunately made itself well and truly at home. The heavy downpour forced the ceremony indoors, but it didn’t change anything – they exchanged vows in a ceremony lead by Chris Mullane, and became husband and wife, just as the rain slowed to a halt, meaning we could continue with all of our photos outdoors! It was a miracle, and we’re still just so thankful that Geri + Matt got to get all of the vine photos they’d so liked.
Some heartfelt speeches and delicious food preceded the first dance, after which we left the happy couple and their guests to enjoy into the night.
Geri + Matt, congratulations again, it was a special day to be with you for, and we’ll see you in February for Megan + Orrin’s wedding!

With sunshine all morning, Saturday’s forecasted rain finally arrived around 4.30pm, forcing Geri + Matt’s ceremony at Soljans Estate to be moved indoors… However, the heavy rain miraculously stopped just in time for all of our outdoor photos – the timing couldn’t have been more perfect! Rachel + Ben’s wedding day was rainy. Torrential kind of rainy. And while we could totally understand a little disappointment at the weather, what stands out is just how awesomely they dealt with what they’d been given. They were beyond happy to be getting married, and really, that’s all that matters at the end of the day. We were so thankful that we’d been so lucky to get such an awesome couple!
Rachel was determined that the planned outdoor ceremony at Kumeu Valley Estate was going to go ahead. Thankfully the rain eased just in time, allowing the ceremony to go ahead outside! Rachel was stoked about that, and we were so happy for her that at least part of the day could go as planned. The vows they exchanged were perfect, and we could tell these two are destined to be a wonderful marriage.
By the time we headed out to Muriwai, it was hosing. With the windscreen wipers on full bore, we weren’t sure how the next hour was going to unfold… Admirably though, Rachel + Ben were determined that they wanted their scenic photos, and because they were up for it, so were we! So we all braved the rain and stepped out for a few images, and we’re really glad we did! Kudos to the bridal party, especially the girls!! Rachel + Ben managed to do their best at channelling warm, dry thoughts, and they ended up with some romantic photos – it was all worth it!
The lovely Annette at Kumeu Valley Estate helped us dry Rachel + the girls off before making their grand entrance, and we enjoyed the rest of the evening, documenting the speeches, cake cutting, first dance and some sparkler photos. Such fun!
Rachel + Ben, thank you both for being such legends. We’re looking forward to seeing you again soon! x

We had endless sunshine in the lead up to Rachel + Ben’s wedding, but as it would be, it rained (a lot) on the 17th of January. On the 16th of November the day dawned warm and sunny, and we photographed the wedding of Sarah + Craig. We started the day at Wild at Heart where we met up with Sarah and her bridesmaids as they finished getting ready. The boys arrived in their Ford Escort sport cars and Craig waited patiently outside for their first look – always such a cool moment when they see each other for the first time!
We took some portraits on the beautiful grounds at Wild at Heart before it was time for them to get married! Soljan’s Estate Winery was the venue of both ceremony and reception, where the orange and pink colour theme was carried throughout. The vineyard was the perfect backdrop for their ceremony, followed by congratulations and family groupings, then we had a short time with the bride + groom on their own amongst the vines and soft, pre-summery evening light.
