Hello everyone!
Lauren here. I thought you’d all appreciate a little update on Baby Samuel, and some info on our Portrait Special!
SAMUEL JOSEPH INDRISIE (02/09/15)
Wow, I can’t believe five months has flown by already – where does the time go?! I will admit, the first six weeks feel like they will last forever, (the constant waking up for feeds and lack of sleep is like nothing else) and we made it through the next 6-8 weeks, where at around 14 weeks, Samuel finally started sleeping more than three hours in one go – woohoo!
I started back at work shooting weddings just before Samuel turned four months old, and have been back in the office for the last few weeks, which has been a lot of fun.
Samuel has been a strong wee boy from the start, holding his head up at tummy time from six weeks old, rolling over at 12 weeks old and mastering it at 19 weeks. His legs are constantly moving, he loves his jolly jumper and playing ‘stepping’ (where we hold him in a standing position and he stamps his feet – he espeically loves doing this whilst looking in the mirror and chuckling at himself!).
We took him swimming for the first time a couple of weeks ago and he loved it! He is very smiley and very vocal (surprise, surprise, who does he get that from, haha) and knows what he likes!
As of yesterday, he’s started shuffling along the floor, and (just about) cut his first tooth – a molar! (I did a double check this morning, it’s so close!)
A good friend of mine said about his son ‘He is my greatest achievement’, and I would have to share the same sentiment. He truly is the best thing that has ever happened to my husband and I.
When I put him to bed at night and he’s finally asleep, he looks so peaceful, I want to pick him up and give him more cuddles!
I have always enjoyed working, yet how much I love being a Mum has completely surprised me – I was looking forward to it, but I never knew I could feel so much love, pride and joy, watching this little person grow from a newborn to a wriggly five month old! I’m so looking forward to what the rest of this year will bring.
I’m also looking forward to seeing new and old clients this year, and being able to say ‘I finally get it! This is awesome!’.
