Jess + James decided they wanted to do things a little differently and we were only too happy to go along with their plans. A romantic, intimate ceremony took place at Bethells Beach on the Thursday afternoon, where they were joined by their parents. After a glass of champagne and throwing of confetti, we stole the newlyweds away for some romantic portraits at sunset. The golden light was perfect. They were spending the evening at Wainamu Luxury Tents nearby so we headed there for a few photos too, and were super impressed by the set up (in fact I want to go and stay out there myself sometime soon!!) A couple of days later, we met up James + Jess again, this time to photograph their reception party with their closest family and friends at the old Flat Bush School Hall. It was a good time, with music provided by the Mix Tape Brothers and Mexican food arriving via the MexiKai truck – delicious! A special ring ceremony was a nice touch to the evening too, with Jess + James exchanging rings after they had been passed around their guests who wrote well-wishing notes… My favourite was one of the grandparents, who wrote : Love each other forever – Gran x… So sweet! Jess + James’ elopement and celebration was a unique way of tying the knot, relaxed and romantic in nature, and we loved being there to document it all. Enjoy xx
