Rachel and Charlie were recommended to us by their close friends Tracy and Tomas, whom we photographed a few years ago (another stunning wedding!). They are both Kiwis, but currently based in the UK, so we liaised via Skype and email leading up to the day. On the day itself, Rachel and I (Lauren) realised that we used to go to high school together – what are the chances?!
They chose the stunning island of Waiheke to be married, it’s such a great location, especially with family and friends arriving from the UK, it feels a world away from the hustle and bustle of Auckland, and is just so stunning and scenic.
After a few ‘getting ready’ photos with the groom and then bride, we met at the beach for a First Look and photos with the bridal party. Then it was off to be married – woo!
They chose the venue Casita Miro for their wedding ceremony and reception, and after experiencing it, we can see why! Not only is the venue stunning and the food and service is amazing, but just wait until you meet Cat – the owner of Casita Miro. She is an absolute delight and so wonderful to deal with, and has a heartfelt passion for the vineyard and venue. We are planning to go back there for our Christmas function and I can’t WAIT!
The ceremony was held of the steps of the art deco style pavillion which houses the restaurant (aka reception room) and Rachel and Charlie exchanged vows bathed in beautiful Waiheke sunshine. Afterwards they were congratulated by friends and family, had a few lovely family photos, and then we left the guests for just a few minutes to let the newly married couple enjoy a few moments together and take a few newlywed photos.
We left them celebrating into the evening with family and friends.
Congratulations Rachel & Charlie!
